The Ohio Forestry Association, Inc., founded in 1903, is an independent organization, operating not-for-profit and chartered to promote the general welfare of the people and private enterprise of the state of Ohio. This will be done by encouraging through education a unified conservation program, including the multiple use of forests, development of adequate water supplies, application of sound land management, and the development of adequate wildlife and recreation values.

Monroe County is often called the Switzerland of Ohio. It was settled around 1800 by a group of Swiss immigrants who were flat boating down the Ohio River to a new home further west. They made land in Monroe County one night and fell in love with an area that reminded them of Switzerland. People have been falling in love with Monroe County ever since.

With over 200,000 members, the Ohio Farm Bureau is Ohio's largest general farm organization. The Ohio Farm Bureau is a federation of 87 county Farm Bureaus representing all 88 counties.

Farm Bureau members in every county in the state serve on boards and committees working on legislation, regulations, and issues which affect agriculture, rural areas, and Ohio citizens in general. These hard-working members are supported by a staff of professionals working to assist them in their action-oriented activities.
